Chatrooms are one of the best things about playing bingo online and help
bring the bingo hall experience to your computer screen. You may be at home but
there's a whole chatroom full of players to talk to. But to save time and typing
so you can concentrate on your game you need to know some common abbreviations
or acronyms.
I'm going to limit this article to acronyms common to bingo chatrooms. How do
I know what's common? By my thoroughly unscientific perusal of numerous
chatrooms where I noted the terms that were constantly repeated.
There are lots of abbreviations in common use, not just in chatrooms, but
also message boards and email. Bingo players use many of these common ones plus
some specifically related to the game. For some reason I seldom see any
emoticons or smileys. You know, these guys :) I guess the reason for this is
that during the bingo game idle chitchat drops to the wayside and the
conversation turns serious as players discuss their numbers. There's not any
reason to express subtleties of emotion when you're saying "1tg 1tg!!"
So without further ado, in alphabetical order, here is your handy dandy guide
to bingo acronyms.
